Hacker Plumbing & Drilling, Inc. has been in business for over 40 years and still holds true to top quality service and dedication to its clients. Delbert and Mary Hacker started Delbert Hacker Plumbing & Heating, Inc. in April 1965. After a brief period as a tractor mechanic and then as a plumber for his wife’s uncle, Delbert decided to strike out on his own. From a small barn on the east side of Vincennes and with an old retired telephone truck Mr. Hacker started his business. With many friends and business associates, he grew to 8 employees by the early 1970’s. Delbert ventured into the water well drilling business, along with his brother in 1973. In 1976, his oldest son, Tim, joined the company and became the first rotary drill rig operator in Knox and surrounding counties. Tim later became the first Master Certified Groundwater Contractor in the state of Indiana, a credit he still holds today. In 1982, Delbert’s younger son, Mark, joined the company as a plumbing and service technician. Mark became a licensed Master Plumbing Contractor in 1992. Due to failing heart condition, Delbert was forced to retire in 1993. Tim and Mark bought the company and it became Hacker Plumbing & Drilling, Inc. The company no longer performs heating & air conditioning, irrigation, or swimming pool services. They have concentrated their efforts on water supply systems, water treatment, plumbing, and sewage disposal. Hacker services municipal, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and residential markets within a 60 mile radius of Vincennes. They have recently branched into full service residential and commercial sewage systems, using the latest technology, septic tank pumping, sewer and drain line cleaning, sewage pump repair and installation, and sewer line video inspection services. Hacker Plumbing & Drilling, Inc. would like to thank all of our past patrons, and we will keep our clients’ best interests in mind on all of our projects. Vincennes has been a great place to raise a family and be involved in the community. Delbert and Mary are very proud of the business tradition, as Delbert still comes to the shop every morning just to make sure “the boys” are there.
